The Tastiest Vineyards to Tour in Oregon Wine Country

Luckily, Oregon is home to dozens of relaxing wineries not too far from Portland, so you can easily escape to golden environmental views and unwind with a glass of wine… or two. Check out some of our favorite vineyards to venture out before they close for the season.   

Durant  

Perched above marvelous views of the Willamette Valley, Mt. Hood, and Mt. Jefferson, Durant Vineyards was one of the first families to successfully grow mouthwatering grapes in the Dundee Hills. Fifty years later they are still transforming these fruits into decadent wines. But don’t take our word for it! Artfully sculpted and nurtured by the land, Durant wines are so rich and flavorful, we couldn’t resist featuring a few of their bottles in our Sentinel suites.

Domaine Serene 

Start your wine tour downtown! Domaine Serene offers an extremely sophisticated and artistic establishment that is home to some of the best Pinot Noirs in Oregon. In fact, they’re so good, Portland couldn’t resist bringing a piece of this Dayton country vineyard into the city. With wine lounges featured downtown, including at the Sentinel Hotel, you can’t miss out on an experience with Domaine Serene.

Battle Creek Cellars 

Wine-hop over to Battle Creek Cellars, where wines are crafted to create a sense of approachability and balance. With beautifully carved wood sculptures and diverse plant displays, spend an afternoon downtown discovering your favorite vinos in this modern and organic tasting room.

Knudsen  

Knudsen vineyards was established in 1971 and has been producing complex and flavorful grapes using sustainable viticulture ever sense. Whether you want to order a daily flight, cozy up in their cabin outlooks, or join a vineyard guided hike, visiting Knudsen can be as interactive or as relaxed as you’d like it to be.

Sokol Blosser Winery  

Perfecting their art for the last 50 years, Sokol Blosser Winery offers velvety wines crafted with environmentally friendly techniques. Kick back amongst 43-acres of beauty and enjoy small bites designed to flawlessly pair with every red and white in the cellar.

Lange Estate 

Named winery of the year in 2012, this vineyard consists of more than 80 individual vineyard blocks and dozens of 90-point wines. With spectacular hills that slope against breathtaking greenery, you’ll have to have your designated driver bring their camera to snap a few shots.

Cathedral Ridge Winery 

Enjoy a personalized experience with world-class wines at this homey Columbia River Gorge cottage. With unique regions that were once carved out from prehistoric lava flows, the gorge offers some of the most high-quality fruit creating a beautifully diverse selection of wine.

Mt. Hood Winery 

With breathtaking views of Mt. Hood and wine as crisp as the local orchards, this winery is a must-visit if you are venturing out towards the Columbia River Gorge or Hood River area. Willamette Valley Vineyards
